Pharmacy at AAU from Science to Practice

The College of Pharmacy at Al Ain University, Al Ain Campus, organized a one-day event entitled “Pharmacy Scientific Day”, under the slogan “Pharmacy from Science to Practice”, which discussed various pharmaceutical aspects ranging from pure science to professional practice.

The event was divided into two sessions, the first session included different topics in the drug design and the action field, whereas the second session included several presentations in the pharmacy practice field.

There were several invited speakers, Dr. Richard Bryce from the University of Manchester, several scientists from UAE universities and hospitals and Academic staff from AAU.

Dr. Noor El Deen  Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, stressed on the University's keenness to keep abreast of the latest developments in the pharmaceutical field in order to develop the skills of the academic staff and enhance the student’s knowledge, he also stressed on the need to pay attention to make balance between the theoretical and practical aspects.

For his part, Prof. Ghaleb Al Refae, AAU President, praised the role played by the College of Pharmacy at Al Ain University to keep pace with the latest developments in pharmaceuticals and scientific researches.

Dr. Khairi Mustafa, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, pointed out that the most important factors that contribute to build a successful pharmacist are the interest in integrating the applied theoretical fields, the knowledge of everything new in the field of pharmacy, and dealing professionally within the work environment.

The aim of this event is to keep the academics and scientist updated with the latest advances in pharmaceutical research and practices and enhance communication and exchange of experiences between Al Ain University and various institutions.
