Pharmacy students won the first three places in the "Undergraduate Research competition”

The College of Pharmacy students won the first three places in the pharmaceutical sciences category during their participation in the Eighth Undergraduate Virtual Research Competition organized by the Abu Dhabi University virtually, which is considered the largest student research competition in the Arab world, aims to enhance the capabilities and initiatives of scientific research among university students.

The first-place winners were, Ranim Wagih, Thoraya Abdeltawab, and Mohamed Alnamer on their research entitled: “Telepharmacy implementation after COVID-19. Are pharmacy students in UAE ready for the challenge?”, Supervised by Dr. Mohamed Baraka. The Second place was provided to the topic, “Molecular Modeling Study on hENT1 Permeants and Inhibitors: Implications for Anticancer and Cardiovascular Drugs”, by students Sedra Jamal and Ismail Tarek, and under the supervision of Dr. Azza Ramadan and Dr. Mohammed Ghattas. The third place went to the topic, “Exploring Pharmacists’ Perceptions Towards Telepharmacy Implementation after COVID-19 Pandemic”, by student Mohamed Abdulsalam Alnamer, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Baraka.

This competition aims at encouraging universities in the GCC to promote scientific research among undergraduate students and to make it an integral part of university education, given the significance of scientific research in advancing the country to the top ranks. It also aims to instill lifelong learning and to enhance career opportunities for young people, as well as foster entrepreneurial mindsets and attitudes in education, research, and innovation.
