Engineering students create “Smart π” on World Mathematics Day

Students of the College of Engineering created a smart π model of recycled materials to preserve the environment and consolidate the importance of the principle of recycling. They demonstrated their innovation during the college’s activities on the occasion of the International Day of Mathematics, under the supervision of Dr. Noha Hamadeh and in the presence of Dr. Faten Kharbat- Deputy Dean of the College of Engineering, and Dr. Lilin- Director of the Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Small Business Development Center, and a number of academic staffs and students. The students also designed another model for smart π using artificial intelligence techniques and were trained to be able to interact with visitors and answer their inquiries.

In addition, the students reviewed the challenges they faced in completing this project. A group of students also reviewed a number of applications of π in space sciences, engineering, pharmacy, and business, through explanations and competitions.
