Al Ain University Strengthens Its International Research Presence in Indonesia

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance international academic and research collaboration, Al Ain University, represented by Prof. Mosab Tabash from the College of Business, participated in an academic research visit to Universitas Airlangga in Surabaya, Indonesia. The visit was hosted by the Center for Environmental, Social, and Governance Studies at Universitas Airlangga, under the leadership of Prof. Iman Harymawan, and served as an important milestone in advancing international collaboration in the fields of sustainability, business innovation, and the circular economy.

The visit included a keynote presentation delivered by Prof. Tabash titled “Transforming Research into Societal Impact”, attended by doctoral students, lecturers, and researchers from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Airlangga. The presentation highlighted the importance of producing research that not only meets rigorous academic publishing standards, but also contributes to real-world business practices and policy development.

Al Ain University, represented by Prof. Tabash, also participated in the Asia-Pacific Business and Innovation Forum 2026, organized by the Center for Environmental, Social, and Governance Studies at Universitas Airlangga in collaboration with the Research Center for ESG at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. The forum brought together a distinguished group of researchers and academics in economics, accounting, and finance, and Prof. Tabash shared valuable insights on building resilient business models amid the accelerating challenges of global climate change. The visit also provided valuable opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange with leading academics and researchers from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

This participation reflects Al Ain University’s commitment to supporting research with societal impact, expanding its network of international academic partnerships, and strengthening its presence in the fields of sustainability, governance, and business innovation.
