AAU prepares for launching the Second Regional Faculty Development Workshop Tomorrow
Al Ain University represented by the College of Pharmacy completed its preparations to launch the Second Regional Faculty Development Workshop about the “Best Practices for Planning Educational Assessment and Curriculum Mapping” tomorrow (Sunday 5th March 2017) in Abu Dhabi Campus, in collaboration with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), with the participation and attendance of nearly of 50 researchers and academicians representing pharmacy colleges from different universities of the region from inside and outside the country.
The workshop would be presented by Dr. Fadi M. Alkhateeb -Director of Assessment & Accreditation and Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy in Texas A&M University, and Dr. Linda S. Garavalia -Associate Dean of Assessment and Professor in the College of Pharmacy at Western University of Health Sciences.
Various subjects between theoretical and practical method and different lectures and discussions will be provided by a group of expertise from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to showcase experiences in the field of education and training pharmacists and evaluation methods of pharmacy curriculum to keep abreast with the developments in the pharmaceutical sciences.
The Al Ain University’s aim of this workshop is to develop the abilities of the faculty of pharmacy colleges in assessment curriculum and to make a balance between the theoretical and practical methods, and design plans to develop assessment curriculum methods.
The “Best Practices for Planning Educational Assessment and Curriculum Mapping” is considered as the Second workshop organized by the university to develop the academic faculty in the College of Pharmacy, where AAU organized previously the first workshop about “Curricular Design and Delivery” which met great success.
It is worth mentioning that the College of Pharmacy at Al Ain University is the only college on the level of the United Arab Emirates taking place on the international accreditation of the (ACPE).
