An open day under the slogan “Towards a healthy heart”
The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus), in cooperation with the College of Pharmacy, organized an open day under the slogan “Towards a Healthy Heart” on the occasion of World Heart Day, with the participation of a number of school and university students.
A group of hospitals and medical entities participated in the health day, such as Millennium Hospital, NMC Hospital, Canadian Medical Center, Samaya Specialized Eye Center, Medicina Pharmacies Group and Trust, and the participation of a group of doctors and cardiologists.
The doctors provided a set of medical advice and guidance necessary to maintain a healthy heart, and encouraged a healthy lifestyle and good eating habits to reduce the risk of heart disease, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of exercising daily because exercise reduces the risk of heart disease.
The health day also included the provision of free medical examinations, such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and eye examinations, and a group of students from the College of Pharmacy, specializing in nutrition participated in the competition for the best healthy salad dish. A judging committee of faculty members evaluated the dishes, and prizes and certificates of appreciation were presented to the first three winners.
