CoP participates in Public Health Conference

Ongoing with the global event campaign to raise awareness about Cardiovascular health. The College of Pharmacy (CoP) students of Al Ain University, Al Ain campus, have participated in the fifth edition of the Public Health Think Tank Conference 2018 (PHTT 2018) that is held annually by New York University of Abu Dhabi.

Pharmacy students actively participated along with other students from all over UAE universities in planning a public health intervention to tackle the issue of cardiovascular diseases. Students worked in teams to devise interventions that aim to improve the conditions of cardiovascular health in UAE. The students also proposed and presented different ideas for possible public health interventions that should contribute effectively towards addressing this topic.

For her part, Dr. Amira Shaaban, from the College of Pharmacy (CoP), supervised the participation and said that it contributes to enhancing students' skills and developing their abilities to plan, debate and propose new suggestions, which increases the opportunity for their integration with the surrounding community. She added that the main objective of motivating students to participate in such conferences is to keep them updated with everything new in the field of pharmacy, medicine and scientific research.
