Research Interests
My research interest lies in the field of Medicinal Chemistry. Some of the current work and future ideas that are being executed can be summarised as follows:
- Multi targeting of biological targets in the same or different biochemical pathways involved in cancer can offer alternative therapeutic approaches to overcome drug resistance (e.g., Dual targeting of aromatase and sulfatase enzymes in breast cancer).
- Antimicrobial resistance is driving the urge of finding novel microbial targets that could be crucial for the bacterial survival and welfare (e.g., Aminoacyl t-RNA synthetase inhibitors).
- Repurposing of currently available drugs in the market through screening to find promising drugs that can act as anti-biofilm or anti-quorum sensing to help in the fight against multi-drug resistant bacteria.

Professional Experience
- Ph.D. Thesis: “4th Generation aromatase inhibitors for the treatment of breast cancer: design, synthesis, biochemical and molecular biology studies” (2021).
- M.Sc. Thesis: “Exploring aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase inhibitors as novel anti-infective drugs” (2016).
- My research experience includes the design and synthesis of small molecules. During my PhD studies and afterwards, I have been involved in the drug discovery process starting from the design and computer-aided drug design (molecular docking, modelling and molecular dynamics and other computational processes), then the development of synthetic schemes for small molecules. I have extensive experience in the synthesis of small molecules and their modifications with complete analysis for the products (NMR, HPLC, and interpretation of MS). I have also been involved during my PhD study in cell culture work.
