Biography

Dr. Rose Ghemrawi is the Director of the AAU Health and Biomedical Research Center at Al Ain University in Abu Dhabi, UAE, a position she has held since January 2022. In this role, she has spearheaded the establishment and growth of a state-of-the-art biomedical research center focused on innovative health solutions. Since September 2017, she has also served as an Associate/Assistant Professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Al Ain University, where she has conducted and led research on cancer, earning acclaim for her teaching excellence in undergraduate and graduate courses.

Prior to this, Dr. Ghemrawi was a Postdoctoral Researcher at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, from August 2016 to August 2017, where she studied the effects of body mass index, folate, homocysteine, and genetic polymorphisms on fertility parameters and the sperm epigenome. Her earlier postdoctoral work at the ‘Nutrition, Genetics and Environmental Risk Exposure’ Laboratory in Nancy, France, from October 2013 to April 2016, focused on B12 metabolism and its implications for neurodegeneration and metabolic diseases.

Dr. Ghemrawi's educational background includes a PhD in Life and Health Sciences from Lorraine University, France, where her dissertation examined the impact of Vitamin B12 deficiency on cellular stress mechanisms, a Research Master 2 in Biology and Health, a Master 1 in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Lorraine University, France, and a Bachelor in Biochemistry from Lebanese University.
